PropScan is an offline-first property walkthrough and report app. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it stays.

Who is responsible
PropScan is published by its developer, reachable at [email protected]. Because PropScan does not operate a server, the developer does not receive or store the property information you enter in the app.
Information stored on your device
The property details you enter (such as name, address, price, measurements, notes and agent contact details), RoomPlan scan results, photos and generated PDF reports are stored in PropScan’s private storage on your device, protected by iOS file protection. They remain there until you delete them or delete the app. If your device backups include app data (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup), this data may be included in those backups, which are managed by you and Apple.
Room scanning (RoomPlan and LiDAR)
Room scanning uses Apple’s RoomPlan framework, which processes camera and LiDAR sensor data on your device to create a room model. PropScan stores the resulting room model (walls, doors, windows, openings, detected object categories and their dimensions) and the measurements derived from it. Camera frames and depth data are not saved by PropScan. Room scanning requires camera access and is only available on compatible LiDAR devices.
Camera and photos
PropScan uses the camera for room scanning and, if you choose, to take property photos. Photos you pick from your library are selected with the system photo picker, which gives PropScan only the photos you choose. Photos are copied into PropScan’s private storage and re-encoded without their original metadata, which removes location (GPS) information. PropScan does not save photos to your photo library and does not upload them.
Microphone and speech recognition
Dictation uses the microphone and Apple’s Speech framework. PropScan requires on-device recognition: dictation only starts when your device supports on-device recognition for the selected language, and PropScan never falls back to online recognition. Audio is processed in real time and is not recorded or stored by PropScan; only the resulting text is saved when you save a note. Microphone and speech recognition permissions are requested only when you first start dictation.
PDF reports and exports
Reports and exports (PDF, CSV, JSON, USDZ) are generated on your device. They leave your device only when you choose to share, print or save them using the iOS share sheet — for example to Mail, Messages, AirDrop or Files. The recipients and services you choose then handle those files under their own terms.
Purchases
The optional PropScan Lifetime purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. PropScan does not receive your payment details. The app checks your purchase status with Apple’s StoreKit, which requires an internet connection when purchasing or restoring. To count the three free reports, PropScan stores random report identifiers in the iOS Keychain on your device; they contain no property information.
What PropScan does not do
- No account system and no login
- No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No upload of property data, photos, audio or reports
- No sale or sharing of personal information
Deleting your data
You can delete individual properties, rooms, photos, notes and reports in the app, or remove everything with Settings › Delete All Data. Deleting a property also deletes its rooms, scans, photos and reports from the device. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device.
Children
PropScan is a professional tool and is not directed to children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
